Our
Projects

School Outreach Program

Her Freedom recently launched three impactful school outreach programs aimed at educating high school students about the dangers of early and forced marriage, gender-based violence, and girls' rights. Through these initiatives at Al Furqaan Secondary School in Pwani and Jangwani High School in Dar es Salaam, we empowered 60 girls to make informed choices and challenge harmful societal norms. Participants gained essential knowledge and skills to understand how practices can disrupt their education and learned about effective reporting mechanisms. Our focus on leadership highlighted the importance of advocating for their rights within their communities.

Community Engagement

Her Freedom is dedicated to fostering community engagement to raise awareness about girls' rights. Recently, we conducted a project in Mkuranga Village focused on the critical issues of early and forced marriage. Through workshops, community members learned about the harmful effects of outdated norms and customs, empowering them to action and protect girls and women in their community. Our surveys indicated a 20% increase in awareness among participants, showcasing the positive impact our efforts.

Advocate for Change: Policy Reform Initiative.

Her Freedom is actively engaged in advocacy initiatives such as the 16 Days of Activism and the International Day of the Girl Child, alongside peaceful walks to raise awareness. By collaborating with organizations like LHRC and MKUKI, we amplify our voice and push for crucial policy changes that tackle the causes of early and forced marriage, as well as gender-based violence. Our commitment to these issues drives us to create lasting change in our communities. Together, we strive for a future where every girl can live free from violence and discrimination.
